Aconcagua, Argentina - 22,837'

The Aconcagua expedition marks a significant continuation of the Veterans Adventure Group's commitment to challenging endeavors. We are bringing SMVs from across the U.S. together to conquer the highest peak in the Western and Southern Hemispheres and one of the world's Seven Summits.

This effort is underpinned by years of dedication in Argentina. We have cultivated deep, reliable partnerships with local experts in Mendoza and on the mountain, ensuring we deliver an authentic, veteran-led experience grounded in local knowledge.

Over a rigorous three-week period, you will join our seasoned leads on a challenging and adventurous route. This expedition demands the very best of you. We prioritize self-reliance: we do not hire porters; we carry all our own gear and food. Aconcagua's unpredictable weather and high altitude require physical and mental toughness, grit, and resilience. This is an intense journey through the Andes, reserved for those ready for a profoundly rewarding adventure.

Aconcagua is a globally significant peak, standing as the highest mountain in the world outside of the Himalayas. At approximately 22,838 feet (6,962 meters), it is the apex of both the Southern and Western Hemispheres and holds the distinction of being the second tallest of the Seven Summits. Located in the Andes Mountain Range within the province of Mendoza, Argentina, roughly equidistant from the city of Mendoza and Santiago, Chile, Aconcagua presents a formidable high-altitude challenge for mountaineers, demanding extreme physical and mental endurance due to its scale and unpredictable weather conditions.

 Trip Highlights

  • Mandatory Expedition Planning: Ensure total readiness through focused pre-climb sessions covering route logistics, detailed packing requirements, and dynamic condition management.
  • Conquer the Aconcagua-360 Route: Ascend to ~22,800 feet via the challenging 360 route, securing unmatched, expansive views across the Andes.
  • Master High-Altitude Logistics & Leadership: Operate in independent small teams to hone critical skills like expedition planning, complex route navigation, and managing camp establishment and sustainment.
