Denali represents Veterans Adventure Group's most successful undertaking in expedition mountaineering. We maintain an unprecedented 100% expedition success rate on arguably the most challenging of the Seven Summits. Even when the overall success rate drops well below 40%, VAG has not failed—we have broken trail on the notorious Autobahn and secured success where others could not.
This consistent achievement is a direct result of our extensive experience, unwavering perseverance, dedication to the mission, and a proven, rigorous assessment and selection process.
We host this premier climb every two years. Our comprehensive selection and assessment phase occurs during a dedicated Crater Camp expedition on Mount Rainier in the off-years.
Denali, also known as "The Great One," is the highest mountain peak in North America and one of the world's Seven Summits. Located in the Alaska Range and the centerpiece of Denali National Park and Preserve, it has a summit elevation of 20,310 feet (6,190 meters). Denali is considered one of the largest mountains globally when measured from base to peak on land, rising approximately 18,000 feet (5,500 meters) from its base, giving it immense vertical relief. Known for its extreme cold, unpredictable weather, and remote location, Denali is widely regarded as one of the most technically challenging of the Seven Summits.
